Last week on the 6th of September a number of U15 girls years 9/10 travelled up to Dunedin for the Highlanders Region Tournament. Central Southland College entered two 10 aside Rugby teams and one Rippa team.
The weather conditions throughout the whole day were horrible but the girls all battled through the weather and ended with some positive results. The Tigers Rugby team won every game in their pool ending coming 1st in pool A and making it into the semi finals, they sadly lost the semi finals against Central Otago girls ending up placing 3rd throughout the whole tournament which was an amazing effort from the whole team. The Sharks rugby team sadly lost every rugby game placing last in the competition but came out of the tournament with an awesome experience. And the girls rippa team ended up placing 5th in the rippa division.
Congratulations to Maddie Wech and Renae Lindsay for getting most valuable player out of their teams throughout the tournament. Also a huge thank you to the coaches Heath Thomson, Chris Wech and Kody Hunt for taking time to come up and support and coach the girls. And to Mrs Kane and Mr Brinkworth for organising our transport and accommodation for the 2 days we were away.
